Texture

H&M jumper, Topshop skirt, Asos coat, Kurt Geiger boots, Louis Vuitton bag

I always get far too excited for the prospect of spring during March. We get a glimpse of the sun for a fleeting period and we've blinked and missed it. I find it's fun to wear contrasting textures whilst I'm waiting for the warmer months - I'm desperate to get back into sundresses and sandals but it's clearly just not going to happen right now (it's still snowing!) I put on an old knitted cropped jumper that always reminds me of paper-links and a velvet skirt for a little trip to Norwich Cathedral and, whilst I'm waiting for the sun to appear, this ensemble is making me rather happy.
P.S. I did treat myself to a new Barry M nail polish today (Peach Melba) and it's the perfect pastel peach shade I've been looking for!

Layers

Topshop jumper, shirt and bobble hat, American Apparel leggings, Carvela at Kurt Geiger boots

Up until recently, I was blissfully unaware just how difficult it is to find a place to live in London! Factor in a blizzard and it's basically mission impossible. I'm facing the elements in plenty of layers (I also have a cardigan on under my big winter jumper) with the hope of finding a place to call home. Snaps

Some pictures of my recent time in London - I'm back again next week for more flat hunting, which is proving more difficult than actually finding a job! From L-R: wearing Zara tee, Topshop jeans and boots, Asos coat, Louis Vuitton bag: Tower Bridge of an unusually warm, sunny day: starlit lanterns.

Wales

Asos coat, Topshop skirt and bobble hat, Ralph Lauren shirt, H&M jumper, Hunter wellies

After a relaxing week in the Welsh countryside, I thought I'd share a few snaps from my little get-a-way. With regular family visits to this gusty part of Britain, I am no stranger to its tempestuous nature and find it no secret that layers and warmth are key to surviving this hearty part of the country; all stylishly done, of course. We took many hilly walks along the sea coast and witnessed beautiful views that spanned for miles. A welcome day trip to the capital Cardiff allowed me to indulged in some much needed cake and retail therapy - a new pair of shoes to be precise and to be showcased here soon!

Classic

Asos dress, Aldo shoes and clutch, H&M earrings, DKNY watch

Nothing beats a little black dress so, when a last minute opportunity to go to a ball arose, I was more than thrilled to have this classic piece in my wardrobe, completely unworn. I snapped it up in the Asos sale last summer for a mere £15 and it has been patiently awaiting its first outing ever since.

Bobble

Topshop jeans, boots and bobble hat, Jack Wills shirt, Ark jumper, Asos coat, DKNY watch

Got a bit snap happy yesterday whilst out shopping and starting papping myself and my lovely new pom pom coat in the changing rooms. My bobble hat has been sitting firmly on my head all week in order to brave the snowy weather, AGAIN.

My main mission was to find a pair of trousers that were smart with a vibrant twist but, as is usual when I trouser shop, my mission failed. I don't think my body shape is tailored to tailoring but I walked away happy with a Chanel-esq quilted leather skirt. Have a great weekend everyone and be sure to stay updated with me on Tumblr, Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram.

Weekend Uniform

Topshop tee, jeans, boots, fur and mittens, Zara jacket, Asos belt, Louis Vuitton bag

Just a few snaps from my recent weekend in London. Jeans and a tee with some form of snazzy boots seems to be my go-to uniform right now. It's easy and breezy and great for doing lots of touristy things in London like visiting M&M world - the most bonkers "attraction" I have ever come across. Until next time stay updated with me on Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram.

December

Topshop collar top, skirt, belt and studded slippers, H&M striped jumper, Asos bunny bag, Butler and Wilson headband

Happy 1st December!! Christmas time is officially here and to celebrate I am wearing a suitably festive outfit. I always think the festive season is for pieces that are a little more ornate so I've brought out my crystal and pearl flower headband courtesy of Butler and Wilson. It's my favourite hair accessory and is so lavish it rarely comes out of it's box however, marking the first day of my favourite month is certainly the perfect occasion. Hope everyone has a lovely weekend, stay updated with me on Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram.

Lazy

H&M tee, Jack Wills leggings, Asos glasses

After what can only be described as a very busy day in London yesterday, I am spending the day having some 'lazy time'. Not that lazy as, really, I've got quite a lot to do. But I take comfort in the fact I can do it all in my 'comfortable clothes' which I thought I would share with you, lovely readers, as I suppose it's nice to know we don't spend all our time in a full face of make-up, hair done and outfit polished to perfection. Happy resting! Until next time catch up with me on Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram.

P.S. A festive snap from London; Christmas is coming and I am super excited xx

Geek to Chic

Topshop jumper and jeans, Ralph Lauren shirt, Kurt Geiger booties, Urban Outfitters socks, Asos glasses, Louis Vuitton Speedy bag

Despite the fact I am frequently told by those closest to me that I apologise far too much, I have my fair share of apologies to make in this post; all necessary, of course. Firstly, for my lack of blogging in the last week or so. Sometimes life becomes overwhelmingly busy and the things you enjoy most get put on the back burner for a little while. Secondly, for how disgracefully dirty my mirror appears to be! Note to self, clean mirror ASAP (what was I saying about being overwhelmingly busy.......) And lastly, for the embarrassing nature of this sickeningly posey photo; generally I am no fan of the camera in hand pout at the mirror photo, but the weather is just so British (and by that I mean rain rain rain) at the moment, that, for now, this was all I could muster up I'm afraid.

And so to the pressing issue, my new glasses! I'm not sure whether I should freely admit to the world that, in actual fact, I have rather good vision and glasses are not essential to the daily function of my life whatsoever. Initially, when these little beauties arrived on my doorstep, I was so overcome with excitement that such thoughts didn't even occur to enter my brain. But, I have been told (you know who you are) that, why on earth would you wear glasses if you don't actually need to? Err, because they perfectly combine both the geek and the chic elements of fashion and conjure up a look so divine that no one will even begin to think "hmm does she really need glasses?" but rather "OMG, where are those fabulous glasses from!?" Yes, the glasses that are so amazing that they lead people into saying OMG and fabulous, all in the same overly flamboyant sentence. I feel I'm digressing a little now, so I think it's time for me to tune out and go create some outfits to go with my new favourite accessory. Let me know what you think, readers. Until next time catch  me on Twitter and Pinterest.

Midi Moment

Topshop jumper and dress (similar here), Asos belt, Kurt Geiger boots (similar here)

I must admit, I've never been much of a fan of the midi. As a style I've always liked it and admired those who make it look effortlessly seductive, but, on me, I always thought it looked a little awkward. As a die-hard fan of the mini since forever, I am now taking baby steps into this new length. I confess, over the last 12 months I have made a few midi purchases, all of which I have had altered into a shorter length! Like I said, baby steps... This dress has been sitting in my closet for quite some time now and fairly unworn but, with the help of my new winter knit, is helping me make the transition from autumn to winter with effortless ease. Until next time stay updated with me Twitter and Pinterest.

The Classic Tee

Topshop tee and studded slippers, Asos belt, Vintage shorts

Having a simple tee (or ten) is must for any girl's wardrobe. It's the classic go to item on those "OMG I have absolutely nothing to wear in my jam packed wardrobe" days. Combined with denim bottoms and pumps or boots and you've got yourself a winning look every time. I'd recommend investing in the tee in a variety of colours and Topshop have a great selection, all available here. Happy shopping and be sure to follow HSW on Twitter and Pinterest.

Hallowe'en Feelin'

River Island jumper, Zara leather skirt and heels, Jack Wills hair bow, Asos flower ring, Vintage Dior earrings

I do enjoy a little festive dressing and I'm getting into the spirit of things fairly early this year. Halloween may still be nearly three weeks away but I'm already using it as outfit inspiration with this orange and black ensemble. I love the natural sixties feel to the whole look as it was quite unintended and seemed to happen quite organically but, hopefully, with successful results.

For me, Halloween is all about extravagance and is the one time of year where I would wear things that I never normally would. I think this has come through in my Halloween inspired outfit - who says you can't wear a winter jumper with a leather mini skirt and heels in the middle of the British autumn?!

Aztec

Topshop Aztec dress and studded slippers, Asos belt

It's official; I have become a Topshop fiend! Whilst I personally think that working there is a lot of fun I'm not entirely sure my bank account has the same state of mind. It's so difficult to resist when you're surrounded by so many lovely clothes that you want nearly every day. So I've decided it's really much less fun to resist and have gone full throttle into buying everything that I want, including this Aztec dress which I bought online here. It is yet another berry shaded dress to add to my ever growing collection and the Aztec print is right on trend. I also love to triangle cut-out at the back, a little detail I was surprised to see when it dropped through my letterbox but one that, I think, makes it even more perfect. Llama

Topshop dungaree dress, Asos tee, Carvela Kurt Geiger booties

In lieu of my two previous posts, I thought it appropriate to show some autumnal colour in my outfits. I also thought it was about time I showcased my amazing new llama print dungaree dress I bought last week! It's like a grown up version of a little girls birthday dress and is such a fun addition to my wardrobe.

Leopard Print

Asos cropped tee, shorts and belt

Nothing beats a nice stand-out print to brighten your mood a little when the weather is so dreary. I think winter is well and truly here (Autumn has definitely been bypassed!) Leopard print is always a classic choice and the key is to always team it with subtle shapes and colours to ensure it's the main focus of your outfit. Too much going on can always border on tacky when this print is involved. Until next time catch up with me on Twitter and Pinterest.

Flying Away

American Apparel Cape, Topshop jeans, loafers and necklace, Asos shirt

My cape doesn't make nearly as many appearances as it should as it's such a fun yet core item in my wardrobe. I suppose the less often you bring a piece out the more special and exciting it becomes. I put this rather statement necklace on with my shirt in an effort to bling things up a little and decided it looked a bitlike a jazzier version of a Texas necktie: thoughts?

Sneak Peak

Asos parka

Here's a quick look at my first purchase for the upcoming winter season! I've always thought of myself as more of a trench coat kinda girl, and this is my first ever parka, but I love it. It's so cool and the fur hood adds just the right amount of chic. Until next time catch up with me on Twitter and Pinterest.
