Nothing beats a little black dress so, when a last minute opportunity to go to a ball arose, I was more than thrilled to have this classic piece in my wardrobe, completely unworn. I snapped it up in the Asos sale last summer for a mere £15 and it has been patiently awaiting its first outing ever since.

Bobble

Got a bit snap happy yesterday whilst out shopping and starting papping myself and my lovely new pom pom coat in the changing rooms. My bobble hat has been sitting firmly on my head all week in order to brave the snowy weather, AGAIN. 

My main mission was to find a pair of trousers that were smart with a vibrant twist but, as is usual when I trouser shop, my mission failed. I don't think my body shape is tailored to tailoring but I walked away happy with a Chanel-esq quilted leather skirt. Black Lace

Navy and black is often a combination that would turn many into a fashion frenzy; personally I've never seen a reason to dislike it, in fact, I'd go as far as to say it's a rather good blend of colours. I love the subtle softness of the navy against the black, somehow making it bolder and sharper. 

This lace shirt is one of my most treasured purchases. It's only from H&M but it's such a timeless classic and epitomises how soft and pretty lace can be. The LBD

I've always loved a classic look so last night, for my graduation ball, I chose a simple but elegant LBD (little black dress). I've actually had this Zara one sitting in my wardrobe for quite some time, so it was nice to be able to give it an outing. I love the bow detailing which really uplifts the dress and gives this timeless classic a bit of flair. 

Accessories are so key when you're going to a ball and I adore wearing lots of gold. The necklace and rings are new additions to my collection, bought especially for the occasion, and I love the Egyptian feel to the necklace. These beautiful Kurt Geiger shoes are my all time favourites; they look and feel so extravagant and add just the right amount of sparkle to any special event.

Fake Leather!

Today is a very casual look and for days like today I love a grey jumper. Literally a must have for every girls wardrobe, it's so simple and easy but looks so good, especially when accessorised. Today I've teamed mine with my (fake) leather jacket and my (fake) leather H&M bag. This bag is amazing; I got it when I worked at H&M and it looks and feels absolutely like real leather. In fact I was quite surprised when I found out it wasn't. I must confess, I'm one of those who think there's nothing like the real  deal but sometimes, when your budget won't quite stretch far enough, you can find some really good buys on the high street that really do look like the real thing. It seriously oversized too, which is great for people like me who feel the need to carry every unnecessary item they can think of in their handbags!
