Check Mate

Vintage shirt and shorts, H&M bandeau, Zara shoes

I'm off on my last summer holiday in a few days (very excited!) so I've been running around doing a few last minute errands. Whilst I don't particularly advocate comfort as an equal footing to style, it is something I take in to consideration, especially when I have so much to do. This check shirt has become my new best friend of late, and the easy nature of these denim shorts is something I've become accustom to. I'll be back from my holiday in a couple of weeks so be sure to check back then but, until then, bon voyage!

The Last Stretch...

H&M jumper, French Connection shorts, Zara shoes, Louis Vuitton bag

Summer is starting to feel as though it's drawing to an end now; the days are shorter, the rain more frequent and that happy and relaxed feeling that's always enhanced during this time of year is slowly starting to fade away. There's still a warm breeze in the air, though, and whilst we're gradually making the transition into the coming seasons I've started combining my summer and autumn wardrobes to accommodate the weather. A good, lightweight knit is always a must for this time of year in England (you never know when it might start pouring) and I've teamed mine with some tailored shorts to keep cool in the last of the summer sunshine. Sneak Peak

Asos parka

Here's a quick look at my first purchase for the upcoming winter season! I've always thought of myself as more of a trench coat kinda girl, and this is my first ever parka, but I love it. It's so cool and the fur hood adds just the right amount of chic. Until next time catch up with me on Twitter and Pinterest

Black Lace

H&M shirt, Mango skirt, Zara shoes, DKNY watch

Navy and black is often a combination that would turn many into a fashion frenzy; personally I've never seen a reason to dislike it, in fact, I'd go as far as to say it's a rather good blend of colours. I love the subtle softness of the navy against the black, somehow making it bolder and sharper.

This lace shirt is one of my most treasured purchases. It's only from H&M but it's such a timeless classic and epitomises how soft and pretty lace can be. It's so fine so it's perfect for keeping cool on these hot summer days. Hope everyone had a great weekend, don't forget to catch up with me on Twitter and Pinterest

Bows, Stripes and All Things Nice

Topshop top, jeans and sandals, D&G sunglasses

I've never really been an advocate of wearing an entire outfit from the same label but, sometimes, like today, it just sort of happens anyway. The weather is so warm and summery so I brought out one of my favourite purchases this summer to meet a friend for coffee. I adore the bow detail on the back, it's so sweet and often an area which tends to be forgotten about so it's refreshing to have a little change. Stripes are my go-to item at the moment. It's hard to think too much about your outfit in this heat and they seem to be the perfect accompaniment to the sunshine. Until next time catch up with me on Twitter and Pinterest

Casual

 Vintage shirt, Zara skirt

I have to confess, this outfit is a little warm for today; leather and sunshine aren't always a great combination, however, I love wearing such a dressed-up, statement skirt and juxtaposing it with a check shirt, the ultimate laid back item. By doing this it makes your wardrobe so much more versatile and allows each piece to be much more wearable. This skirt has been sitting in my closet for months and, having only been worn once, I decided I needed to find ways in which I could incorporate it into some day attire.
Have a look in your wardrobe and see which evening pieces you can dress down and make day appropriate. I'm sure you won't be disappointed with the results! Until next time catch up with me on Twitter and Pinterest

Stripes

Jack Wills shorts and vest, Liquorice Jacket, Zara shoes

Stripes are always a classic choice; they're so easy and breezy and you know you can just throw them on and they'll always look chic. Sometimes, however, I think they're a little too easy and so I like to put contrasting stripes on for a more interesting look. It's good to play with size and colour as it adds more depth to your outfit and takes it from a sometimes obvious choice to an ensemble with a little more omph! Yasmin X GoGo Philip

Earrings courtesy of GoGo Philip and Material PR, Topshop tee, American Apparel jeans, Zara shoes

I've been a huge fan of GoGo Philip jewellery since I discovered it in Topshop a while ago, so, imagine my excitement when I got the press release through of the collaborative collection with singer Yasmin (I'm sure you can imagine my excitement even more when I received these earrings in the post!) The collection captures the true essence of the genre-defining 80s and brings in style influences from iconic girl groups and artists from across the decade. The collection is fun, forward and definitely makes a statements with large, geometric shapes with an array of reds, blacks and golds.

The cool glamour of the collection really shines through each piece and it's clear that the style from both parties has been incorporated for brilliant results. These earrings are definitely my favourite from the collection but I also adore the gold chains and statement rings, all of which are bursting with vibrant style. Yasmin comments: "Gogo Philip really is the label to go to if you want cool glamorous pieces
and I love the ‘Made In Italy’ tag – it takes me back to Versace in the 80’s!  It was really
fun designing this collection with Gogo". The collection is available to buy now at selected Topshop and Selfridges stores nationwide.
